Do you have a transportation programme?
ISL does not currently provide a transportation program. However, the school is well-connected and easily accessible via bus, train, bicycle, and car, ensuring convenient travel options for students and families.
Does ISL offer after school activities?
ISL offers a diverse and enriching activities program for all students, featuring a wide range of options such as Fencing, chess, football, cooking, science club, arts and crafts, and many more! All activities take place on campus, providing a convenient and engaging environment for students to explore their interests.
Does ISL offer an after school care programme?
ISL provides a dedicated on-campus after-school care program, run by Floreokids, offering a safe and nurturing environment for all students. This program is designed to support families by providing engaging activities and supervision beyond the school day.
Do you offer preschool?
ISL partners with SPL Opvang to offer an on-site Dutch preschool for children aged 2 years and older. This program provides a strong foundation for early learning and supports a smooth transition into our primary school.
Is there a deadline for applications?
At ISL, we operate a rolling admissions policy, allowing us to accept students throughout the year, provided there is availability in the appropriate age group. This flexible approach ensures a smooth transition for families joining our school at any time.
Are students able to purchase lunch at school?
Yes! ISL is proud to partner with Tommy Tomato, providing students with the option of warm, nutritious lunches every day for those who wish to participate.
When is the school closed for holidays?
Please refer to our school calendar for a complete overview of school holidays, bank holidays, and study days. ISL follows the Dutch holiday schedule to ensure alignment with national academic breaks.
Am I allowed to take my child/ren out of ISL during term time?
There are strict regulations governing attendance for both international students and within the Dutch education system.
If a Special Leave request is denied by the school and the child is still taken out, ISL is legally required to report this to the Leerplicht Ambtenaar (Attendance Officer). In most cases, this will result in legal action.

Does ISL have a uniform policy?
ISL students are not required to wear a uniform. However, we do offer the option of an ISL hoodie for those who would like one.
Can I schedule a visit to the school?
We warmly invite all prospective families to visit our school to ensure it is the right fit for you. If an in-person visit is not possible due to logistical reasons, we are happy to arrange an online TEAMS meeting instead. Please click here to arrange a tour.
My child does not speak English, may they still join ISL?
Yes, absolutely! ISL has a dedicated English as an Additional Language (EAL) support team to assist students throughout their time with us, ensuring they receive the guidance and resources needed to thrive in our learning environment.
Are there facilities for students with physical challenges?
Our school is equipped with facilities to support children with physical challenges, ensuring they feel welcomed, comfortable, and fully included in our learning environment.
What age group will my child be placed in?
Our cut-off date for group placement is October 1st of each academic year. Please refer to the attached document for a detailed breakdown of our year group placements.
How many students do you have per class?
Our class sizes are limited to 24 students, ensuring a supportive and engaging learning environment for all.
